Perth to southern hills quarry (113kms past Norseman) duration 12.5 hours.
We had a teary depart from Perth at 5am, Awww Jan, Wayne and Shan we miss you! Got on the road up the hill outa Perth, into the fog, literally! Encountered our first 'big thing' comin outa merriden, 'the big camera', why that's thing isn't more famous I'll never know. We discovered the copious amounts of elation trying to get a truck to honk at us could provide! TING!! Drove through doodlakine.....pffffffftt! visited tammin cemetery just for kicks (tammin - tammy....get it) coolgardie totally provided the goods, the first 'sport of the trip hit our lips (emu export designated Wa beer) and we saw our first interestingly decorated house, oh these interesting country folk. Saw Ned kelly......that was sick. TING!! Got into Norseman at about 430pm, just 80km on the highway and a 20 minute drive on a dirt road and we're at the quarry where food, booze and dongas are waiting! Yeh right! First we miss the turn off, then when we go back to it we find ourselves driving along a never ending dirt road that shook Hurse to bits. The sun was down and things were feeling a little nervous but we found our way and made it to the camp. And was it worth it! Fresh beds, hot showers, free wine and free cornchips - a HUGE thanks to absolute stone (our official sponsors)!!! A good nights sleep is all we dreamed of, so after a big drive, 3 truck honks, some 'sports and some scotch, (thanks pords, brit and rotweeler) Lizzie ran around the dark with a drill she found, then it was to beddy byes for three tired travellers!
For all those doubting hurse, by the end of day one she was mint as! Running at a cool temp sitting on 100km getting 400km to a 40litre tank! She is seriously the best car to cruise in, crank the music, windows down. And the mascot Morris Morrison is Definetly part of our trip, he yells sometimes, hawaii girl and Elvis have joined the dashboard shrine aswell! Iv been putting my tool set to use, thanks daddy love you!!!!!!! Xxxx
Love to all, tam, ash and Liz!
Next post super super soon!

you mad hippies.
I'm wondering if you will find time to visit the Big Rocking Horse in Gumeracha, SA. Apparently if you can climb it you get a certificate. Total bonus.
