A tale of romance

When they first saw each other we all knew it was more than a simple acknowledgement of each other’s existence.
Barlow got this look in his eye, and his words slowed to a super romantic pace.
Gina's (Gino's) usual flicking of the tail halted completely and she got this glint in her eye, and it was as if both of them were in a different world all together.
I mean a few hours before she was just a calf grazing the fields of the Moore River......and Barlow was just another man fixing drum brakes with hair pins and being a super wiz on the computer box.
Neither of them were searching for love...but love it seems was searching for them.
And it found them......they could not hide.
At first Barlow's suggestion to ‘bath with a calf' was a little forward to me, but then I saw the eagerness he displayed and how with my hesitation he grew complacent as if this was something he must do in order to feel complete.
The look on Barlow’s face was not that of raw lust, it was an expression of respect and love.
So with no time wasted a warm bath in the antique claw foot bath overlooking the tranquil Moore River was being prepared.
Gina nestled in Barlow’s lap and the cruiser trustfully carried them home from the stockyards.
It was a sunny day and the look on Gina’s face displayed that the water temp was perfect.
They had such a good time, everyone was jealous…they wanted to be in the bath with Gina.
But it was Barlow that she chose.
They laughed and joked, Barlow put bubbles on her head, she kicked him a few times, it was smiles all round.
After the bath Gina was given a towel dry and pat and then dropped back to her mum.
As Barlow placed Gina down in the yard he whispered ‘I’ll never forget you’…..she nuzzled him gently, then trotted off with contentment in her step.
Everybody present that day knew they were part of something special, something they would never forget.
If we get to witness at least one moment like that our entire lives it will make all this pain worth it.
Let’s face it most of us will not find OUR calf, but we believe with all our hearts that our calf is out there, we’re all just stumbling and searching and maybe one day we’ll be as content as Barlow and Gina.
We do realize this has nothing to do with our roadtrip, but i spoze in a way this roadtrip could be veiwed as our search for our own calf in the bath.
