Hursulas boyfriend

We leave Bonnie Doon devastated as we do not take Jack and Stella with us as promised , as we drive along the winding road and stormy weather Tammy fiddled with the windscreen wipers and car stereo that have both decided to stop working again! First stop Benalla! ( Nigel had promised to give us an over the phone tour of his home town but didn't answer his phone) devastated we looked in some Antique shops where a fight broke out amongst the local employees, we fled to town for some crappy coffee and doughy sickening powdery scones with jam and cream ( sugar syrup and fake cream) . Tammy was feeling so sick her exact words were " I have to get some KFC chips and gravy to feel better" so in we swung to the drive through... All of these events led us to exiting Benalla where there it was....we spotted an old blood orange falcon with roof racks stacked up and packed to the brim  just like ours ! The girls were ridiculously excited and yelling turn around, turn around  we have to follow them , off we went back into the town centre in search of this sweet sweet falcon . We tracked it down and met it's inhabitants Chris, Chuck, Bundy  and Wiggy (wiggum?) and their cool dog. The car was a 1960 Ford Falcon  XK deluxe.. The boys were on their way to 'Chopped' a custom and rod show for old cars , pre 1965. We wished we could join them but to the Blue Mtns we were headed....
I think it is safe to say that this day Hursula met her boyfriend ....

We're gowen to Bonnie Doon!!

We awoke to a overcast Melbourne day as we gathered our possessions that were by this time all over the place. Thanks guys for letting us trash ya house. We then hit the road.....it was raining and the windscreen wipers were not working - tam had pulled the mechanism out the day before. So to make them work the passenger had to press the mechanism against the car body so it could earth, which would cause a spark, oh Hurse! It was pretty exciting. We mosied on down to Brighton for a coffee, a place called tucci brown, good coffee, great macaroons and all the journal supplies you will ever need or want. So after a coffee or two, a game of chess (Hails totally beat TAM!), a browse, ash on the piano and tam on the vocals, we grabbed some lunch and set off for the famous Bonnie Doon!
The drive was pretty and excitement was in the air. Saw a great idea for shade on a tractor.
We arrived in bonnie at about 5pm, as the sun was setting we made our way along the winding lakeside road stopping for paddocks of 50 or more Roos!
Getting to the juraschecks holiday house on the hill we were greeted by Deb, Pete, Stella, Jac, Jordy and Jackson.
We immediately were enjoying a glass of red and relaxing. Dinner was had and the night finished with port and an outdoor spa, Mmmmmm
Once again haylie awoke at the crack of dawn but managed to stay in bed long enough so she didn't annoy us all AGAIN!
We drove out to Watsons horse riding adventures.....!!!! We were given dryza-bones and attractive helmets (against tam's will)! And we were introduced to our noble steeds for the day: haylie to jordy, Lizzie to ox, asha to mr t and tam to avoca.
We rode off on our tour of the place where man from snowy river was filmed. It was raining and miserable but strangely pleasant. Especially when cantering along paths where wet hanging bushes slapped us in the face. Tam n Hails as experienced riders were in the front team that moved faster, while Lizzie and ash stayed with the loser team. (haha) but after 10 mins the girls (sick of being losers) requested they go faster so they were put into our faster cooler team, and fun, and wetness in the saddle and cantering was experienced by all. Haylie's horse had trouble doing a wee wee and tam's horse was on heat (horse NOT like rider) but ash n lizzies horsies were great. After traversing the land tea and fruit cake is all we could think about. TING!!
Coming into mansfield we drove past a cop car, so super safe we continued not to draw attention...but flashing lights were behind us and we were all panicking 'what did we do' 'we werent speeding!!' so over we pulled and silent we sat, two officers came to the window as one said 'your not in trouble we just wanted to admire your car'......so we got some photos with them, and as tam was on the road taking a photo lizzie said 'thats highly illegal' ....to that an officer replied 'what are they gunna do? Call the cops?' ahahah
So home we drove, as we got back to Bonnie the storm hit! The girls fell more in love with Stella and jac and we decided we were taking them with us. (ps they are dogs) We watched lightning and drank wine, then watched the man from snow river, Lizzie doted on Jim, Haylie thought about Moo, Tam imagined she owned Denny and Asha slept.

A big thanks to DEB and PETE for having us. Xx

RACING ANOTHER EH!!!

Yew Jordy....GOT HIM!
(120km)

melbs

We were greeted in Melbourne by Moo aka Mark Jankovic with little gift bags full of chocolates, toys, drinks and shot glasses and whisked away to the Peninsular to go the Natural Hot springs for a nice relaxing time in the baths and saunas... After spending a couple of hours chilling out we all got ready at jizzys and went out for dinner at a fantastic Mexican restaurant called 'Bahas'  ,not only was the company, food, margaritas and sangria amazing but we got to be entertained by one of the coolest bands we have seen called "Graveyard train " we would describe them as dirty sorrowful seashanty folk.. With instruments such as the hammer and chain, harmonica, spanish guitar, banjo, dobro and squeezebox. Had the best time, would definitely recommend you to see them!
The fun in Melbourne had only just begun... Saturday,  Moo organized a fancy dress bike riding adventure through the city along the Yarra to Southbank , we were joined by Jesse and Brent . It was so much fun , our crew stopped in at James squire brewery and the Belgium bier cafe. Along the way we found a giant 7 person bike cruising around, they let moo take over as lead cyclist for a bit!
After the meeting on Sunday we had a beautiful picnic down by Parkdale beach with Moo, Jizzy , Matt and Brent .. Drank from a fresh coconut and read some poetry
Next day Tammy , Lizzy and Asha met up with Anriele in the city for a coffee and to bid her farewell back to Lennox (we miss you!) and headed down to Torquay to meet up with Jen, Ben and Em for lunch where we checked out Bells beach and looked for Keanu and Patrick... Lizzy braved the freezing cold water to have a surf at Birdrock ( just north of Bells) her wetsuit had a tear which Tammy duct taped up.       (that duct tape has done wonders on this trip)
That evening we headed back to the boys for yet another Mexican fiesta served up by Haylie and Moo who had spent a nice day together at St Kilda by the Pier

Little trail of Hursula

The Grampians

After tearing ourselves away from Anne's delightful cooking and abducting her son, we piled up Hurse's already-full roof rack with Zac's stuff and set off. Stopping for the essentials (ahem, Rekordelig, thanks Zac) we made the 3'ish hour drive to the Grampians (not Gambiens, Anrielle) National Park. Trying to take in the pretty, gigantic mountains that we were driving into, we attempted to dodge the growing amount of wildlife that was occupying the road as we passed into Halls Gap as dusk descended. So beautiful.

We stopped to get outrageously over-priced groceries and headed to "Grampians Paradise", where our sweet 70's caravan awaited. Drove in excitedly to see Leon chatting to park owner Aiden (I know that killer rats tail is attractive but back off Lizzie, he's married). We were glad the boys were with us because it was slightly scary driving into a pitch black caravan park with only one other person staying there. But we quickly warmed to it with it's quirks and murky water. Mexican food, wine, Rusty Nails and card games ensued. Things got a bit rowdy when Haylie was introduced to Leons monkey hat...

Next morning we awoke, had a lovely family BBQ brekky and got ready in mountain-climbing attire. Got some once again ridiculously overpriced picnic supplies in town and managed to fit in an impromptu busking sesh outside of the shops with Zac on lead guitar, accompanied by the Chromonica, a ukulele and a triangle and some sweet handclaps. Earnings of the session amounted to $3.30. Then made our way* to the Balconies, a massive rocky lookout over the Grampians with an amazing view. Luckily we had a clear day and we could enjoy a picnic out on the rocks. Could have been a slightly out of bounds area but was too good to resist. Inventive sandwich and cup making skills were needed. 'Coon Goon'. Then tried to go to Mackenzie Falls to swim in the waterfall but was all closed up due to weather damage. Damn, so disappointed. Head back to the caravan park to make dinner and meet a WOOFer, Canadian Dan. Said he'd started in Perth and had push-biked (Nige it was a fully sweet dooshie) across the Nullarbor. Tams new nickname of 'talk box' is coined. We bond over truck honking. Good luck man.

In the morning we have to part ways with Leon and Zac, but saddest of all with Aiden....

*Driver Haylie revealed a side of her none of us saw coming: this self-proclaimed animal lover was indeed a mass murderer of local fauna. Final count of the afternoon was one pigeon and four lizards (one lizard managed to escape her ruthless killing spree). Note: no other driver killed anything, just Hales. Tammy spent the day re-enacting the pigeons last moments before she saw the explosion of feathers.
